Little Haiti Housing Association and Intel announce new computer clubhouse

Little Haiti Housing Association has long had after school programs for the children of the families who have purchase homes. Now underprivileged youngsters will soon be able to ``learn by doing'' with the new Intel Computer Clubhouse site set at the Little Haiti Housing Association.

In an announcement made Tuesday, the Intel Corp. added the Little Haiti location to their list of 54 after-school ``invention workshops.''

At these clubhouses, members can create digital artwork, produce their own music CDs and short movies and design websites.

The computer clubhouse at the Little Haiti Housing Association, 181 NE 82nd St., will be about 1,000 square feet with 15 to 25 work stations and areas for a digital music studio, socializing and creating artwork, reading, building robotics and models and displaying artwork created by the clubhouse youth.

The site should open within six months.

Intel has committed $32 million to open 100 Intel Computer Clubhouse around the world by the year 2005.

Two more locations are planned for the Greater Miami area.
