Program Officer
Real Estate Development
Greater Miami LISC seeks qualified applicants for the position of Program Officer
-- Real Estate Development.
This program officer will provide technical assistance to Community Development
Corporations in planning and implementing real estate development projects and in
the design and update of comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans.
Background:
LISC is a national non-profit organization which provides financing and technical
assistance to Community Development Corporations and other organizations working
to improve housing and economic conditions in urban neighborhoods and lower-income
communities. Greater Miami LISC, active since 1984, is one of some 40 Program Offices
throughout the country.
LISC helps resident-led, community-based development organizations transform distressed
neighborhoods into healthy communities û good places to live, do business,
work and raise families. By providing capital, technical expertise, training and
information, LISC supports the development of local leadership and the creation
of affordable housing, commercial, industrial and community facilities, businesses
and jobs.
Responsibilities:

Provide technical assistance to CDCs undertaking real estate development projects,
including affordable housing and commercial and community facilities.

Provide support and technical assistance to CDCs developing and updating comprehensive
neighborhood revitalization strategies.

Provide oversight and management of consultants providing real estate development
training and services.

Serve as a liaison to various public and private investors providing grant and
loan funds to CDCs.

Program Officer reports to the Program Director and will work closely with the
Local Advisory Committee.
Qualifications:

Relevant experience in residential and/or commercial real estate development.

Bachelors Degree in related field. Graduate degree in urban planning, real estate
development, public administration, business administration or other related field
is desirable.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Required computer skills: work processing (word); spreadsheet (excel). Experience
in working with computer spreadsheets to analyze financial transactions and conditions
and project feasibility.

Previous experience in program development and technical assistance delivery.
Experience in working with a variety of community, public and private sector actors
to design and implement neighborhood revitalization programs.

communities; Effective Interpersonal skills; Comfortable with group processes;
Personal integrity.
Compensation:
Salary will be based upon qualifications. LISC provides competitive compensation
and benefits package.
