Stabilizing North Dade Neighborhoods
The Consortium uses NSP2 funds to stabilize neighborhoods in north central Miami-Dade County through the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing housing units or the redevelopment of vacant or blighted structures. The target 1,255 units of rental and homeownership housing with the potential to roll over funds for additional units.

WHAT IS NSP2
  • The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is a federal program that provides funding to stabilize communities that have suffered foreclosures and abandonment.

  • NSP1 was authorized by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) of 2008. It provides grants to all states and selected local governments on a formula basis.

  • NSP2 was authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Recovery Act) of 2009. It provides grants on a competitive basis to states, and local governments but also to nonprofits and a consortium of nonprofit entities.
