 LHHA plans to require all prospective tenants to participate in a six-week Tenants' Education Course which will stress the importance of fiscal responsibility. The course will be modeled after our Home Ownership Training Program and will include information on the mechanics of banking and savings; developing good credit; budgeting and preparation for the next step - home ownership; tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities. The programs are based on LHHA's philosophy that an educated tenant, like an educated home owner, will create a sense of community within LHHA's multi-family developments, which in turn, provide a stabilizing effect on the community. Tenant Services will also include Landlord/Tenant Mediation and Social Service Referrals. |
