LHHA provides extensive home owner education and credit counseling
for qualified home owners. The eight-week course, taught in Haitian Creole, includes

What to Know About Banking
What to Know About Using Credit Cards
Importance of Insurance: Home Owner, Wind Storm, Flood, Life
Process of Financing A Loan
Maintaining Your Home
The program also includes individual support for below-market-rate
mortgage applications and home owner follow-up. To date, one hundred thirty-five
families have graduated from LHHA's home ownership classes.
LHHA believes home owner education is extremely important, as
an informed home owner is necessary to maintain property, as well as protect and
stabilize the quality of the community.
