Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. Mappin of Macon; his son, Gary and his wife, Teresa Mappin of Nashville, TN; brothers, John Mappin of LaGrange and Hoyt Mappin of St. Simons Island; sister, Jo Summers of Madison, 6 grandchildren, Hillary Mappin, Garrett Mappin, Dwayne Dawson, Teresa Rogers, Kendra Spillers, and Joel Dawson and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Hugh married Margaret SELLERS. Margaret was born in Nov 1920.^⁹⁷ They had no children.
